The state has given the Sudanese Free Zones Company limited the task of administering investment and developing Sudanese free zones according to the 1994 free zones and markets law. The law stipulates a number of investment guarantees, facilitations and advantages to develop investment opportunities in the areas of industry, trade and services in order to achieve suitable levels of multiple benefits.

 Location

Garri Free Zone is situated 70 km north of the capital Khartoum and west of the Khartoum oil refinery where Sudanese oil is refined. It is in the area between the railway line and Al-Tahadi road (Al-Jaili - Atbara).

 Size

The overall size of the area is estimated at approximately 26 square kilometers.

 Strategic advantages of Garri Free Zone

The area is connected by a network of roads, air and railway routes that join all parts of the country and extend beyond the borders into neighboring countries. It further enjoys the provision of electrical energy sources and water in addition to increasing manufactured and agricultural resources and other natural raw materials.
